CAN I MEET THE SITTER PRIOR TO MY SCHEDULED RESERVATION?

Some clients choose to schedule a meeting prior to the date that they will be leaving the sitter alone with their child so that they can get to know their sitter. All standard charges and minimums apply. Families may speak with their sitter by phone at no additional fee.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY SITTER?

It is always a good idea to make your booking with as much notice as possible. Booking a sitter with at least 24 hours notice is suggested. Urgent bookings are available based on our availability. We recommend scheduling the sitter to arrive at least 15 minutes before you have to leave.

HOW CAN I RESERVE A SITTER?

You can reserve a sitter by filling out our Make a Booking form online, calling The Babysitting Group or emailing us with your enquiry. If you have used The Babysitting Group before please feel free to text when requesting a booking. Please do not text the sitters with requests.

CAN I REQUEST THE SAME SITTER EVERY TIME?

It is always our preference to book the same sitter. Please provide dates and times with as much notice as possible so that the same sitter can be arranged. We will do our best, however we can never guarantee that the same sitter will always be available.

WHAT IF I HAVE AN URGENT BOOKING?

We are able to accommodate the majority of our urgent bookings. We can usually have a sitter to your home, place of stay or event within the hour. The hourly rate is higher when booking an urgent sitter. Please see all pricing details on the 'Our Prices' page.

HOW DO I KNOW THAT MY BOOKING HAS BEEN CONFIRMED?

Once we have received your request you will receive an email confirmation with payment details. Payment will need to be made via bank transfer or over the telephone 24 hours before your sitter is due to arrive. Once payment has been made, you will receive your sitters details. For urgent bookings and any late fees, The Babysitting Group will invoice you within 7 days.

WHAT IF I ONLY NEED A SITTER FOR AN HOUR OR TWO?

The Babysitting Group has a 3 hour minimum charge for all bookings.

DO I ALWAYS NEED TO BOOK SITTERS THROUGH THE BABYSITTING GROUP?

Bookings must be made directly with The Babysitting Group. The sitters are under a non-negotiable contract and they will not work for any client (or third party) outside of The Babysitting Group. The sitters respect their jobs, commitments, and agreements and we hope you will too.

AM I ABLE TO MEET WITH THE FOUNDER OF THE BABYSITTING GROUP?

Morgan King, our founder of The Babysitting Group is available to meet with any family by appointment, to answer any questions or concerns you may have. This service is free of charge.

WHATS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF CHILDREN PER SITTER?

Our maximum number of children per sitter is 4. Please notify The Babysitting Group if there will be more children in the home or hotel room than originally scheduled.  We will need detailed information on all of the children present and emergency contact information. Depending on how many children, additional fees may apply.

WHAT IF MY CHILD IS SICK?

The Babysitting Group must be notified when a child is sick. Sitters will need written permission to give a child medication. Please be upfront when booking your reservation so that we can provide the best possible care. If the sitter arrives and is unable to care for your child because an illness or special need was not specified, you will be billed for a cancelled reservation.

HOW SHOULD I GIVE THE SITTER INSTRUCTION?

Please let us know on your booking form any special requirements, allergies or illnesses. Please give your sitter a brief about your child’s routine and any specifics you would like them to follow on arrival. We recommend scheduling your sitter to arrive at least 15 minutes before you need to leave, to explain your child’s routine and for an introduction.

IS THERE ANYTHING THE SITTER WILL NOT DO?

Sitters will not clean, do laundry, run errands, make deliveries or allow anyone not pre-authorised by the client into the home or place of stay.

WHAT WILL THE SITTER DO WHILE MY CHILDREN ARE NAPPING OR SLEEPING?

Your sitter will bring a book or quiet work to do while the children are sleeping or napping. The Babysitting Group provides childcare services only. Sitters will not clean or do any domestic work but will of course cleanup from the time that they have spent with your children during the booking.
